Off-campus lunch

Going off the school grounds and eating great food for lunch is great . We have a lot of good stoors to go to for lunch that are cheap and affordible. lots of kids go of cmpus to lunch to eat and it is lots of fun.Treat box bakery is the best place to go and get donuts for only a dollar and they are really big. If you are in the truckee are i would reccomend going to Treat Box Bakery.

End of the year

The end of the year is tuesday and i am super excited to get out. The end of the year is when everybody starts to get roudy and anxious to get out of school. It is always the best time of the school year because they have barbeques outside and food and bouncehouses inside. Graduation is this weekend and the seniors are all very excited to be out of highschool forever.

Day on the Green

Today, on June 9 2010, Truckee High School is having Day on the green. It is when the school has a minimum day schedule and instead of getting for the minimum day we go to the field for a school barbeque. I also walked into school today and there was a car in the hall. It was the senior prank.

Minimum Days

Minimum days are great in the winter when you can go to the ski resort after school and ski or snowboard. They are also really fun in the summer when you can go bike riding or go to the beach and swim. Here in Truckee High School we have minimum days every other wednesday. Lately we haven't had one but this wednesday is one. Since the weather is good some of the kids might choose to go to the docks at Tahoe Donner. Others might choose to go bike riding. Minimum days are very fun here in Truckee.

Unexcused Absences

When you are away and you are missing school you may have to excuse your absence. At Truckee High School we have to have our parents call in. Even though your parents called in they will unexcuse your absence. If you are ill they will excuse your absence but if you are gone on vacation or if a family memeber has even died they still won't excuse your absence. I have had this several times and they wont excuse my absence.

T.I.R.E.

T.I.R.E. is a new program in our school and it helps students to keep their grades up. T.I.R.E. is a program that allows you to have an hour lunch if you have all of your homework in and above a C in all your classes. We have planners that are supposed to be stamped by our teachers. If we dont get our planners stamped or if a teacher slashes it you have to stay in for thirty minutes. When that thirty minutes is up you can go and have a thirty minute lunch. The good thing about this program, is that it pushes kids to do their homework and try to keep their grades up. The downside to this is that a bunch of kids are ditching to get out of an extra thirty minutes in their class. T.I.R.E. has helped me to improve my grade and has pushed me to do my work.
